Our Story

Wild & Indigo was born from a deep fascination with Jaipur's heritage textiles and the soulful craft of block printing. What began as a long-held dream to visit Rajasthan's famed Pink City became the spark that ignited a creative journey—one rooted in culture, storytelling, and a profound respect for traditional artistry.
My first visit to Jaipur in 2016 was transformative. The city's rhythm—its kaleidoscope of colour, history, chaos, and joy—felt almost electric. Amid the vibrant saris, sunlit façades, bustling markets, and wandering cows, I attended a block-printing workshop that introduced me to the centuries-old craft of printing with plant-based dyes and natural inks. That experience planted the earliest seeds of Wild & Indigo.
A few years later, on my honeymoon in 2019, I returned to Rajasthan and connected with a family-run block-print studio in Bagru, a small town celebrated for its textile traditions. Immersed in dyeing and printing techniques, I created a collection of naturally dyed scarves and sarongs—and even my first dress sample. It was simple and beautiful, and in that moment, the vision for Wild & Indigo began to take shape.
CRAFTMANSHIP
Block printing is a slow, soulful craft where everything begins with a hand-carved wooden block and a pot of natural dye. Artisans carve each motif with care, then rhythmically press the block onto cloth—the soft, steady thump marking the heartbeat of the work.
Layer by layer, colour by colour, the pattern grows under their hands, carrying tiny variations that make every piece feel alive. Once sun-dried and washed, the fabric reveals its true character: warm, imperfect, and deeply human. No two prints are the same, each one holding the touch, time, and tradition of the people who made it.
Our hope is to offer pieces that feel meaningful: garments that hold the warmth of tradition, carry the marks of handmade beauty, and remind you of the human stories woven into every thread.
Wild & Indigo is not just a label—it's a tribute to Jaipur, to its artisans, and to the timeless craft that first captured my heart.
Each Wild & Indigo piece honours craftsmanship and small-scale production, brought to life through skilled hands and traditional methods. Each pattern is printed using hand-carved wooden blocks in an age-old process of repeated applications, where every piece carries subtle variations that celebrate artisanal individuality. These delicate differences reflect the natural beauty and uniqueness of truly handcrafted textiles.
